Use of animals in teaching

The use of animals for educational purposes is one area where alternative techniques have been successfully introduced.

However, there are situations where the involvement of animals is necessary to achieve educational goals.

In these circumstances, guidelines have been developed which focus on strategies to minimise the possible impact on animal welfare.
